About Us

Who We Are

Kathy Mackey Design started in 2004 to help small businesses get online efficiently and affordably. What began as a side hustle evolved  into a trusted service for many Massachusetts business owners who want an affordable, easy-to-manage website—with real support from someone nearby.

Who We Work With

I work with a wide range of small to midsize businesses—including independent sales reps, contractors, attorneys, and other professionals—helping them create websites that reflect their work and support their goals.

Behind The Name

I’m Kathy Mackey—the person you’ll talk to, text, or email. No call centers, just one point of contact who’s here to develop and manage your website. And when a project calls for it, I team up with other trusted local developers and marketing professionals to offer expanded services without losing that personal touch.

How We Work

Every project starts with a conversation. I take the time to learn about your business, your goals, and what you actually need your website to do. Whether you’re starting from scratch or rebuilding an outdated site, we’ll choose the right platform—WordPress, Squarespace, GoDaddy, or another option—that fits your budget, comfort level, and long-term plans.

No one-size-fits-all solutions. Just thoughtful decisions based on what works best for you.

FAQ's

I work with small to midsize businesses across many industries—contractors, tradespeople, condo associations, real estate professionals, independent reps, and more. If you need a clean, effective online presence, I can help.

I work with WordPress, Squarespace, GoDaddy Website Builder, and Wix. During our consultation, I’ll help you choose the platform that best fits your needs, budget, and comfort level.

Your website hosting and any software—whether it’s a one-time purchase or a subscription—is licensed directly to you and paid for with your credit card. That means no hidden ownership issues, no surprise renewals, and full control over your site.

For WordPress sites, I can manage software updates for you—or set things up so you can handle them yourself. Platforms like Squarespace, Wix, and GoDaddy take care of software updates automatically. No matter which platform you use, I’m available to update content on your site whenever you need it.

Most websites take 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the size of the site and how quickly content is provided. I’ll set a timeline that works for you.

I can help polish and structure your content, but you know your business best. I’ll guide you on what’s needed and can refer you to a copywriter if you prefer full content writing support.

Absolutely! I’ll make sure your site is easy to update, and I’ll walk you through how to make changes if you’d like to manage it yourself.

Just reach out! We’ll schedule a quick call to talk about your business, your goals, and whether we’re a good fit. From there, I’ll send a proposal and timeline.
